Start a Business

Horicon would be happy to host your new business. We have a partnership with Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC) to guide potential new business owners through start-up. WWBIC has counseled hundreds of successful companies on business creation, and offers help with obtaining funding, and directly provides loans for new companies.

Horicon is the birthplace of the grain drill and the first garden tractors.
Small business education classes are offered monthly at WWBIC’s Madison and Milwaukee locations, and can be provided in Horicon if desired. Typical topics include:
  • Exploring entrepreneurship
  • Loan process, A - Z
  • Researching your business idea
  • Business plan basics
